Top pick: #7 (GIANT SLAYER) (4-1) - Lightly raced and well bred, he stretches out in distance, and a solid third place finish at Saratoga going 5.5-furlongs at this tag Aug. 11. Stalker gets a slight edge in a competitive contest.
nd pick: #11 (Jimmy Soul) (2-1) - Speedy gelding by "City Zip" is racing off almost an eight week break, and will be dropping in class and cutting back from a mile to six-furlongs. A very strong win candidate.
rd pick: #4 (Bolt From the Blue) (10-1) - Grey gelding exits the same last race as "Giant Slayer" and was only a length back of him on the wire. It was his first off a seven-week freshening, first in a turf sprint, and trainer Tom Bush adds blinkers. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #5 (Billypaysthebills) (8-1) - Unraced since last Nov., he showed ability at that time and has some solid a.m. moves showing for his return. He has a new trainer (Nick Esler), and he adds blinkers for this attempt.
th pick: #6 (Badasmywifeletsmeb) (8-1) - Barn (Tony Quartarolo) won one here on Friday with a West Coast shipper from trainer Barry Abrams. This gelding has some speed, and it's noted that Castellano is aboard for the low percentage outfit.
