Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (STOP ME IF YOU CAN) (7-2) - Even-paced type has finished within range in his last pair at Saratoga. He draws a nice outside post for this 6.5-furlong distance, catches a field with several early speed types, and has a solid shot at winning this down the stretch.
2nd pick: #1 (Steam Engine) (2-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, son of 'Mineshaft' finished a pace-setting second when debuting Aug. 17 at Saratoga going 6 furlongs. He worked fast here Sept. 5, has the rail, and trainer Brad Cox wins at a 22% rate second time out. I could have easily made this runner the top selection.
3rd pick: #6 (Nice Bank) (12-1) - Longshot ships from Penn National where he rallied to finish second following a slow start. Both blinkers and Lasix are added and jockey Hector Diaz Jr. comes in for the mount.
4th pick: #5 (Grammi Dance) (6-1) - Gelding raced very greenly when debuting Aug. 30 at Saratoga. It was a useful first attempt and I like that Jose Ortiz stays aboard. Look for a much better effort today.
