Top pick: #7 (JUPITER MOON) (2-1) - Lightly raced filly comes off a career best when she finished a pace-chasing second at Saratoga at this level, going seven furlongs on Aug. 28th. Race was her first off a Charlie Baker claim, and a subsequent seven month layoff. Barn brings her back quickly, and she's the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #10 (Light Weight) (7-2) - Speedy & lightly raced, she raced wide & evenly last out at Saratoga facing $25K "open" maidens. Trainer Ed Barker drops her down, and has her stringing starts together.
3rd pick: #6 (Canela Rose) (12-1) - Home-bred takes the big drop into "claiming land" for the first time in start #3. Very nervous before her latest at the "Spa", filly had a fine local drill four days ago. Price play.
4th pick: #3 (You Take the Cake) (5-1) - No speed type enters off a pair of back-to-back fine efforts at Saratoga racing at this level and distance. Working fast since, and trainer Joe Lostritto snapped a long "dry" spell here the other day with a pair of winners.
