Top pick: #9 (PARACHUTE CONEY) - $150,000 son of "Badge of Silver" has finished 3rd in both starts, the latest here in a contest that was switched to a muddy main track. Has some speed, is bred for the grass, and Dominguez is back aboard. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Adriatic Spirit) - Has some speed and gelding has been bet in all three starts. Home-bred by "Wild Desert" has run well in both his turf races and is in a barn (Dave Donk) that specializes in turf horses. He'll be involved from start to finish.
3rd pick: #13 (Van Tassel) - He's on the also-eligible list and needs one scratch in the main-body to compete. Well bet in his debut August 20th at saratoga, he was "bumped" at the start and raced evenly while wide. Working fine at fair Hill for a trainer (Graham Motion) that's always better 2nd time out.
4th pick: #11 (Current Aquasition) - He's taken money in both outings and raced evenly here in a grass sprint Sep.16th, then tired 15 days later in the same "off the turf" contest as "Coney". Think he'll be competitive at an attractive price today.
