Top pick: #5 (LOTZA HEAT) (3-1) - Gelding has shown steady improvement in two starts since debuting on Aug. 6. He rallied while very wide to finish second here at this level on Sept. 24 and draws a better post while retaining Castellano. 3yo gets a slight edge in a competitive contest.
nd pick: #1 (Baskets) (9-2) - Speed/stalker finished a close up third here at this level and distance on Sept. 8. It was his first back from a two month freshening, and he should be involved every step from his inside post.
rd pick: #6 (Bob and Jim) (5-1) - Veteran maiden rallied while in the clear to finish second here on Sept. 5 and was a length better than "Baskets" that afternoon. He's had a lot of chances (23-0-3-2) and needs to do a bit better for anything more than a small slice.
th pick: #9 (Sole Train) (6-1) - He showed nothing while racing wide facing tougher on Sept. 17. Gelding had run much better in his previous start at this tag and will be closing fast in this spot.
th pick: #8 (Doc Daneka) (8-1) - Gelding raced evenly from his rail post when debuting here in the same last race as both "Lotza Heat" & "Bob and Jim." He moves off the rail and can factor with just a bit of improvement.
