Top pick: #9 (RANGER JAMES) - Latest was more like it as this nicely-bred colt ("Street Cry") rallied from far back to finish second at this level going nine furlongs. Race was only his second since last fall and today's extra furlong works in his favor. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Book) - He set/pressed the pace in his latest and only weakened in the last 1/8th to finish four lengths off the top pick. Has the rail, is improving, and should run even better today.
3rd pick: #5 (Urbano) - Son of "Candy Ride" stumbled and tired last out in a race run over a "sloppy" track on September 11. He moves back to the grass today and his effort two back at Saratoga was competitive.
4th pick: #3 (Goldwyn) - He checked and had a poor start in his debut, then had no chance from an outside post in his second start. Freshened-up for the past two months, he should do much better today.
