Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (KING FOR A DAY) (2-1) - He's one of two entered by trainer Todd Pletcher and the pair race uncoupled. Colt finished a troubled third when debuting in a Saratoga sprint Sept. 3. Pletcher wins at a 31% rate second time out and at a 24% clip when stretching horses out in distance. Son of 'Uncle Mo' worked fast Sep 16 and will be tough in this spot.
2nd pick: #4 (Cousin Pete) (6-1) - The second of the Pletcher trained pair, longshot raced evenly while not involved debuting in a Saratoga sprint Aug 4. Colt sold for $320,000 this past April, has breezed a half-dozen times since his first attempt, and think he'll improve at a square price.
3rd pick: #1 (Will Dancer) (3-1) - From the barn of Chad Brown, $300K purchased raced both evenly and greenly when finishing fourth going 7 furlongs Sept. 1 at Saratoga. It was a useful debut and his trainer wins at a 28% clip second time out and at a 30% rate when increasing in distance.
4th pick: #2 (Kentucky Wildcat) (12-1) - Godolphin bred son of 'Tapit' tired when debuting in a Saratoga sprint Aug. 18. Colt worked very fast Sept. 15, should like this longer trip, and it's noted that Lasix is added.
