Colt was in training at Payson Park in Florida earlier in the year but did not start at Gulfstream. $125K son of 'Giant's Causeway' had a sharp local breeze May 1st and is racing with Lasix added for the first time (a strong 31% winning angle from trainer Chris Clement).
2nd pick: #9 (Elusive Talmo) (5-1) - Speedy and lightly-raced, he's been bet heavily in both dirt starts and was competitive in each. He's worked twice since finishing third going a mile on the Aqueduct main track April 12th. Trainer Rich Schosberg switches him to the grass and it's a surface he was bred to like.
3rd pick: #7 (Memories of Peter) (7-2) - Grey colt rallied while very wide to finish second at this level and distance on the Aqueduct turf Nov 12. On the sidelines since, he's working sharply and trainer Jim Ryerson is already 3-for-9 at this tough meet.
4th pick: #6 (Old Friend) (12-1) - Longshot hasn't seen action since late Feb sprinting on Aqueduct's winter surface. Colt had a tough outside post that afternoon and ran evenly after being bumped heavily at the break. Working both steadily and above average, trainer George has him on the grass and trying a longer distance, both for the first time.
