Top pick: #11 (OLIVE EYE) - Daughter of "Maria's Mon" has run well in three of her four starts and finished a strong pace-chasing third last out going a mile at Gulfstream in her first grass race. Trainer John Kimmel cuts her back in distance and filly has a pair of fast works since shipping north. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #9 (Tidal Slam) - Filly finished a pace-setting second at this level last out at Aqueduct going a mile in a race that was moved from the turf to the dirt. Daughter of "Stormy Atlantic" is lightly raced and in a good barn (Kiaran McLaughlin). The main danger.
rd pick: #8 (Smarty Sister) - Filly by "Smarty Jones" didn't "lift a hoof" in her debut last November and has been on the sidelines since. Switches surfaces and drops into a claimer. May do well at a price.
th pick: #7 (Glory Chaser) - $75,000 daughter of "Mr. Greeley" debuts for a good trainer (J.P. Terranova) with firsters(25%). Working fast and steadily and she need not be much to impact the exotics as the field has a lot of poor runners.
th pick: #1 (Sonnys Lady) - Filly had all sorts of problems in her debut and trainer Gary Contessa brings her back quickly for this (six days). Has the hedge and presume that she'll be sent hard. This turf contest may have been their intended target.
