Top pick: #8 (JEWELISA) (5-2) - Filly ships up from Gulfstream Park where she chased and weakened late to finish fifth of 10, beaten 4 lengths facing tougher going 8.5-furlongs. Freshened up since that March 17th contest, trainer Bill Mott drops her in class and shortens her up in distance. Working nicely at Churchill Downs before shipping here and 3-year-old gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Maura's Pass) (8-1) - Speedy filly has been on the sidelines since late December. Daughter of 'War Pass' ran well on this turf course last year while still a maiden and has a shot at a big price if ready.
3rd pick: #1 (Jenny's Creek) (6-1) - Veteran is back for another season on the NYRA circuit. Un-raced since Oct. 19, mare has gone 14-1-5-4 racing on the grass over the past two years. Stalker is dropping in class for her return and is breaking from the rail. Six-year-old has previous experience at this distance on the turf 5-0-2-1 and is a win candidate with her best.
4th pick: #2 (No Tunes) (5-1) - Lightly-raced home bred has early speed and broke her maiden going 5-furlongs at Gulfstream on Jan. 23. She tired facing tougher there March 13th in her first facing winners. Barn (Alan Goldberg) is already 2-for-2 at this meet and comes off a strong session at Gulfstream.
