'She's So Fine' moves up in class after being beaten 1.5 lengths here going a mile for a $40K claiming price June 15. 'Hudson River Gal' also moves up in class in her first off a Maker claim ( 23%). She's finished 2nd four times in the past facing tougher, is working fast. and has blinkers added. I like her chances and her barn-mate also has a shot.
2nd pick: #7 (Mood Swing) (8-1) - Longshot is working fast for her first since April 2. She tired that day after tracing the pace facing tougher at Gulfstream Park. $230K daughter of 'Scat Daddy' drops into a claimer for the first time and Irad Ortiz Jr. gets aboard.
3rd pick: #6 (Stormy Alexis) (3-1) - Irish bred import hasn't raced since early August when she rallied to finish second at Saratoga at this level and distance. Strong finisher is working above average and could beat these with ease if ready off the almost one year layoff.
4th pick: #3 (More Than a Legend) (5-1) - Her lack of any early speed hurts her chances. Well bred filly rallied to finish a non-threatening fourth here at this level June 18. It was her first start in two months and daughter of 'More Than Ready' would love a fast and/or contest pace to develop. If not, a minor award is her ceiling.
