Top pick: #10 (DOWSE'S BEACH) (3-1) - Grey gelding enters off a career best when beaten a "head" here at this level going a mile on June 12th. It was his first race since late November and this Generazio home bred is brought back quickly by the still hot barn of Chris Clement. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #11 (A Marked Man) (5-2) - The morning line favorite, Broman home bred set a quick and pressured pace before weakening late to finish 4th of 9, beaten just under two lengths in a $100K stakes here on June 22nd, going 7-furlongs. It was his first ever on the turf and trainer Linda Rice has him shortening up a bit and back in with fellow maidens.
rd pick: #8 (Latigo Trail) (4-1) - He really stepped up his game last out when he broke on top, set a very quick pace, and was nailed in the final jump to lose by a "nose" here at this level and distance.
th pick: #5 (Junger) (12-1) - Colt exits the same last race as "Latigo Trail" and finished a close up fourth while earning a career best figure. It was his second start off a 5 1/2 month vacation and he may impact today at a big price.
th pick: #9 (Blue Chips Only) (10-1) - Gelding tired here in an off the turf race on June 14th in his first since debuting at Saratoga in late August. Three-year-old by "Bluegrass Cat" has worked well since, is bred for the grass, and is making back-to-back starts for the first time.
