Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #11 (LABEQ) (5-1) - Grey son of 'Tapit' sold for $575,000 as a yearling back in Sept. of 2016. Brought along slowly by trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, 3-year-old is making his grass debut in this spot. He finished a close up fourth at this level and distance on the Aqueduct dirt March 25 and is headed in the right direction.
2nd pick: #5 (Frontier Market) (6-5) - The morning line and probable heavy favorite, he ships from Gulfstream Park where he missed by a 'neck' at this level going longer Feb. 9. Sharp in all three career starts, 5-year-old is in the barn of Chad Brown and is an obvious strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #1a (Commandering) (7-2) - Colt is coupled in the wagering with #1 'Indurate' who is a first-time starter. This 4-year-old has been on the sidelines since Oct. 20 at Keeneland. Competiitve in all but one of his eight starts, he's on the grass for only the second time. $340,000 son of 'Bodemeister' trained during the winter at Palm Meadows in Florida and is from the same barn (Chad Brown) as 'Frontier Market'. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #10 (Spectacular Jack) (9-2) - Another by top sire 'Tapit', this 4-year-old originally sold for $550,000. He finished a close up fourth at this level March 7 at Gulfstream in his grass debut and runs today as a NEW gelding. He's stringing starts together after being away for 15.5 months and is making positive gains lately.
