Top pick: #7 (ROSES FOR ROMNEY) (3-1) - Home-bred daughter of "Hard Spun" has really taken to the turf (4-2-2-0) since trainer Todd Pletcher moved her to the infield in her third start. Speedy sort looked great here winning an entry-level allowance for state-bred going a mile June 16th. That was a career best and she can make her first stakes appearance a successful one with a repeat of the "figure" earned that day.
2nd pick: #5 (Discreet Marq) (2-1) - The probable favorite, she comes into this off a win facing "open" company here in the "Sands Point" (G2)on May 27th. The race was her first back off a four month layoff and at Gulfstream this past winter she ran second and third in a pair of stakes. Obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Moonlit Sonnet) (8-1) - Lightly raced and still improving, she's been sharp in all her grass races (4-1-1-2) and just failed last out against weaker after "losing her footing" at the start. Home-bred has a flexible style and will be a square price.
4th pick: #8 (Adriatic Dream) (12-1) - Strong finisher has a tough outside post and will be racing far back in the early stages. Longshot would benefit greatly if a fast/and or contested pace were to develop.
