Top pick: #10 (ABSOLUTE BEAUTY) (6-1) - She's one of two fillies entered by trainer Rudy Rodriguez, and the pair race uncoupled. This lightly raced daughter of "Big Brown" has raced evenly in both starts since coming off almost a half year's layoff on July 20. She's worked fast since her latest and had a bullet half-mile breeze at Aqu on Sept. 18th. 3yo gets the call in a "wide open" betting race.
nd pick: #4 (Hot Stones) (3-1) - Home-bred filly by G1 winner "Bustin Stones" has been sharp in all three starts, and last out at Saratoga she finished a wide third at this level in her first facing winners. Working fast for this, and strong finisher is a win candidate with a "clean" trip in this large field (12).
rd pick: #3 (Yampa River) (5-1) - The second of the Rodriguez fillies, she rallied into a fast pace to win at Saratoga on August 28, racing for a $35K tag against "open" company. Nicely spotted this afternoon, and a threat right back.
th pick: #12 (Gabrilicious) (12-1) - Consistent mare ships in from Finger Lakes for her first since July 27 when she finished second there in an entry-level allowance. Filly has won here in the past and can factor late if she can avoid a wide trip.
th pick: #11 (Daisygonnamakeit) (8-1) - Unraced since April 21, she's gone 9-2-1-3 overall, and her stalking style and outside post are a plus if trainer Steve Asmussen (22% off of long layoffs) has her ready.
