Bet down to favoritism that afternoon, race was switched off the turf. $150K purchase was bumped at the break and had a very wide trip. Trainer Chad Brown (27% second time out) has worked her twice since and he gets to run her on the grass.
2nd pick: #2 (Courtly Kitty) (7-2) - She has a bit of speed and has been entered twice for the turf but both races have been switched to muddy tracks. John Velazquez is back aboard following a one race absence ad think this home bred will be competitive this afternoon.
3rd pick: #4 (Out of Trouble) (6-1) - She tired while racing wide when debuting at this level sprinting on the dirt Aug 24 at Saratoga. Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin (20% second time out) moves her to the turf and stretches her out in real estate. He wins at a solid 24% on the increase in distance.
4th pick: #6 (Grand Banks) (12-1) - Longshot is from the same barn (Dave Donk) as 'Courtly Kitty.' She raced both wide and evenly following some early traffic trouble in her grass debut July 24 at Saratoga. I like her work pattern for her first in almost two months and think she can factor at a big price.
