Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (FIRST CHARMER) (7-2) - Beautifully bred filly raced very wide while chasing the pace in a mile grass contest at Saratoga July 29. She tired turning into the stretch in what was her first race in 11-months. Working well since, trainer Bill Mott switches her to the dirt and shortens her up in distance. Daughter of 'Smart Strike' looks set for a big effort.
2nd pick: #1 (Royalton) (3-1) - Filly did not break cleanly at Saratoga Aug 27 and finished a distant and disappointing third there at this level Aug 27. It was her first in eight-weeks and trainer Steve Asmussen brings her back quickly for this attempt. Has the rail and Castellano stays aboard.
3rd pick: #6 (Stone Supplier) - Home bred has finished second in both starts, each coming at Saratoga at this level and distance. She was a 'nose' in front of 'Royalton' last out and should factor again in this spot.
4th pick: #9 (Kellyesque) (4-1) - Penn National based filly finished right behind 'Royalton' and 'Stone Supplier' when debuting Aug 27 at Saratoga. She's worked fast since and her annually high-percentage trainer (Todd Beattie) wins at a 33% rate second time out. His regular jockey Clinton Potts stays home and Irad Ortiz Jr. is aboard. Must be left in the mix.
