Top pick: #10 (BLUE PIGEON) (2-1) - He's finished second in three straight at this level and did so here on Oct. 1 at this 7-furlong trip. One run type has a lot of potential pace to close into and draws a fine outside post. Lots of things to like.
2nd pick: #5 (Slew's Brew) (10-1) - Longshot has put together three solid starts in a row and is facing winners for the first time. Strong finisher broke his maiden going 8.5-furlongs on the "Spa" turf on Aug. 24 and is cutting back in distance for this attempt. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Adam's Note) (6-1) - He's raced evenly while finishing fourth in two straight at this level going a mile. 3yo was four lengths back of "Blue Pigeon" last out and can factor with the cut back of a furlong.
4th pick: #7 (Latigo Trail) (4-1) - Speedy gelding just failed to hold on here at this level going 6-furlongs on Sept. 7. It was his first facing winners and has now put together four fine starts in a row. A factor on the front end, but the added furlong this afternoon is not in his favor.
5th pick: #2 (Macagone) (5-1) - Freshened up since Aug. 23, speedy colt is shortening up in distance for today's assignment. He's working fast for his return, and J.J.Castellano is aboard for the first time. Don't just ignore this son of "Artie Schiller."
