Premium Pick

Top pick: #9 (MAYBRY'S FORTUNE) (3-1) - Grey filly pressed a fast pace after a "troubled" break and tired during the stretch run when debuting here in a 7-furlong grass contest facing tougher on Sept. 11. Trainer George Weaver drops her down in class, moves her to the dirt, and shortens her up a furlong.

2nd pick: #7 (Samurai's Honor) (10-1) - Very fast from the gate, she's tired badly in both starts when facing much tougher. Trainer Tom Albertrani drops her down in class, switches her from turf to dirt, and most importantly adds lasix. Strong win candidate, and at a square price.

3rd pick: #6 (Livinthefastlane) (8-1) - State-bred showed nothing when debuting at Saratoga on Aug. 16, and trainer Rudy Rodriguez (24% second time out) drops her in class off almost a seven week freshening.

4th pick: #3 (My Jimmy Chew Girl) (7-2) - Pletcher-trained filly raced evenly when debuting at Saratoga for twice this tag on Aug. 22. Race was run in slow time and she'll need to do much better in this spot to contend. Can factor, but will be over-bet.

5th pick: #1 (Thundering Gale) (6-1) - Filly has had trouble at the break in both starts and they came racing for a $75K tag. Trainer Ed Kenneally drops her in price, she draws the rail, and has worked three times locally in the past 20 days.
