Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (ASCEND) (2-1) - Lightly raced grey gelding has been freshened up since May 14. He missed by a 'head' here at this level going just a bit farther. 4yo has gone 5-2-3-0 since trainer Graham Motion added blinkers last August at Saratoga. Working fast at Fair Hill for his return, and I like his chances.
2nd pick: #2 (Western Reserve) (8-5) - The morning line favorite, he was only a 'nose' behind 'Ascend' here May 14. He has good early speed and has been working very fast locally for this assignment. I could have easily made him the top selection.
3rd pick: #3 (Winter Springs) (7-2) - NEW gelding has been on the sidelines since Jan. 16th. French import went 9-3-3-0 in his country of birth, but has raced evenly in all four N. American starts since coming here last summer. Working well on the Saratoga training track, and think he's set for a competitive effort.
