Top pick: #9 (ROYAL JEST) (5-2) - The probable favorite, she's finished second in three of her four grass starts with the lone poor effort coming going a longer distance. Stalker enters off a strong try here at this level and distance on May 31st and draws a nice outside post this afternoon. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Jenny's Creek) (4-1) - Long time maiden likes to make one run and last out rallied to finish third here in the same May 31st contest as "Jest." Only a bit more than a length off of her at the finish, it was her first start in 7 1/2 months. Her local record stands at 8-0-3-2 and home-bred mare has worked well since her fine return run.
3rd pick: #6 (Lutheran Miss) (7-2) - Lightly-raced and speedy, she's been competitive in both dirt starts and will be trying the grass for the first time. Bred to like it and she exits a contest that had a much tougher field than this.
4th pick: #3 (Pie's First lady) (8-1) - Un-raced since Nov. 16, her entire career has been spent on the turf (9-0-1-4) and filly is 5-0-1-2 on this course. She tends to race evenly, but is still a potential threat if ready off the half-year's absence. Her trainer (Linda Rice) has been on a good run over the past month.
