Trainer Jonathan Thomas has won with 15 of 41 (39%) second-time starters in 2019-20 and with seven of 18 (44%) over that same time period when dropping maidens into claimers. He gets a slim edge.

Stalker finished a close-up 3rd at this $40K tag May 8 at Gulfstream and is a very obvious win candidate today. I could have easily made her the top selection.
