Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (NAZAY) (4-1) - I liked her last out, and before checking in an even 4th, she spent the majority of the contest fighting her jockey. Heavily bet that afternoon, home bred is back on a quick turnaround, and it's a big plus that Jose Ortiz stays with her.
nd pick: #9 (Goldtown) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, she rallied to finish a non-threatening 4th racing at this level and distance May 28. It was her first start since Jan. 21, and 4yo by 'Speightstown' had some serious traffic problems that afternoon. $300,000 purchase is a very strong win candidate, and I could have easily made her the top selection.
rd pick: #10 (Scripted) (12-1) - Filly tired badly here facing tougher going a mile on a sloppy main track May 17. It was her first following a Gary Sciacca claim and was to have been her grass debut, but the race was taken 'of the turf.' Think she can be competitive at a big price.
th pick: #12 (Youth Gone Wild) (8-1) - 'Nibbling' type has been competitive in four of his last five, and she finished an even 3rd here at this level and distance. Race was her first in six months, and 4yo should be at her best in her second off the long break.
th pick: #3 (Spontaneous) (20-1) - Filly is lightly raced, has early sped, and is dropping into a claimer for the first time. $130,000 purchase is from a winning barn (Joe Sharp), and this 3yo should show whatever talent she has in this spot.
