Top pick: #4 (SALUTOS AMIGOS) (3-1) - Stalker enters off a solid try here when finishing a close up fourth in the G1 "Vosburgh Invitational' going 6-furlongs on Sept. 27. The extra furlong should help his style out and he should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into.
2nd pick: #6 (River Rocks) (2-1) - The probable favorite, he's in career best form and it all began when he came off a 7 1/2 month layoff in June and switched to the barn of J.P. Terranova III. He's gone 4-3-1-0 since then and last out finished second here in the "Kelso Hdcp." (G2 )going a mile. Speed/stalker is shortening up a furlong and has gone 3-2-0-1 at this distance in the past. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Sage Valley) (8-1) - He rallied to miss by a "neck," going 6-furlongs at Laurel on Oct. 3. It was his first race in almost 10 months and this former stakes winner has done well at this trip at 4-2-0-1 earlier in his career. Don't just dismiss him.
4th pick: #1 (Confrontation) (6-1) - Speedy sort threw in a clunker at Saratoga on Aug. 30 in the G1 "Forego." Prior to that, this stalker had gone 7-5-1-1 and had been well managed by trainer Barclay Tagg. Capable with his best and this fragile gelding by "War Pass" likes it at Belmont at 3-2-1-0.
