Top pick: #1 (SAME OLD WISH) - Gelding has caught some tough runners in his four-race career and has been freshened-up since tiring in a sprint at Saratoga on August 3. Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin adds blinkers this afternoon and this 3-year-old by "Malibu Moon" is working very fast for this attempt. If as expected this race is run on the main-track, he's the horse to beat.
nd pick: #9 (Deed It Is) - Colt had no chance at Saratoga when he was "bumped" at the start and forced to race wide in a 5.5 furlong sprint. Race was his first in 2 1/2 months and trainer "Shug" Mcgaughey will stretch him out again and more importantly drop him into a claimer for the first time. Win candidate.
rd pick: #5 (Lindell A.C.) - Speedy gelding races second off a claim by Steve Asmussen and it was for "high profile" owner Maggi Moss. Three-year-old by "City Zip" has finished second in all three dirt starts and one of those came over a sloppy surface. His speed must be respected.
th pick: #8 (Eastside Train) - Another who has some speed and he may be the fastest of that group. $115K son of "Silver Train" races tagged for the first time and will stretch-out a bit in distance. Most of the horses by his sire like "off" going.
th pick: #6 (Delegated) - Heavily bet when debuting at Gulfstream last March he tracked early, made a strong bid turning for home, and held gamely to finish second. Race was at this price going 6 furlongs and son of "Smoke Glacken" trained nicely but did not start at Saratoga.
