2nd pick: #1 (Portfolio Manager) (8-5) - As mentioned above, he defeated 'Harlan Punch' by almost a length going seven furlongs for a $40K price tag Aug. 27 at Saratoga. Claimed that afternoon by Dan Gargan, he brings him back quickly stretching him out a furlong. New trainer wins at a 22% rate off the claim and he has Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard.
3rd pick: #4 (Main Road) (6-1) - He rallied to finish second at this tag going six furlongs at Saratoga Aug. 6. Stalker lost position when he was bumped hard at the break so the overall effort was solid. Competitive in all but one of his eight starts this year, he's racing first following a Mike Maker claim (18%).
4th pick: #5 (Conquest Sure Shot) (8-1) - Very lightly raced 3-year-old was an easy winner going 6.5 furlongs at Saratoga Aug. 4 for a $25,000 price tag. It was his first start since Sept. 18 of 2016 and a career best overall. Well bred and think he can factor at a big price.
