Top pick: #4 (SUNNYSIDER) (5-1) - He stretches back out in distance after a close-up finish here at this level going seven furlongs on Sept. 21st. Home-bred speed/stalker has worked twice for "Hall of Famer" H. Allen Jerkens, and looks set for a big effort at a square price.
2nd pick: #10 (Elroi) (5-2) - Lightly raced gelding has been competitive in all three starts and has had some traffic issues in his last pair. One run type draws a nice outside post for his style, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Here Comes Tommy) (7-2) - "Tommy" raced both wide and evenly here at this level and distance on Sept. 15th in his first off a 70 day break. Gelding by "Freud" had finished second in both local grass appearances prior to the layoff, and should contend today.
4th pick: #7 (Charity Reins) (5-1) - Colt by "War Pass" returns off his second layoff, and has been working nicely off-site for trainer Sue Cooney. He's shown enough in his previous races to be a big threat if sharp off a 5 1/2 month break.
5th pick: #1 (Katmansu) (10-1) - Home-bred has fine early speed and draws the inside post for his first start since June 13. He's improved noticeably since switching to the turf, and is a threat if ready off the four month vacation.
