Top pick: #2 (ANAPHYLAXIS) (5-2) - Grey gelding has been very consistent (7-1-4-1) dating back to late October, and comes into this off a neck loss here at this level and distance on May 9th. Effort was his best since returning from a 2 1/2 month break on March 16th and a repeat of it wins this.
2nd pick: #6 (Copper Forest) (5-1) - Veteran speed/stalker just failed here facing a bit cheaper on April 27th. He set a solid pace in the one mile contest and held gamely but fell a 1/2 length short to today's rival "Junior Officer." Race was his first in 10 months and he's worked nicely since. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Junior Officer) (8-1) - As just mentioned, he wore down "Copper Forest" last out to win by a 1/2 length on April 27th. Capable of beating better in the past, one-run type draws a nice outside post and he likes this surface (5-2-1-0).
4th pick: #1a (Warrior Up) (4-1) - Part of a Rodrigo Ubillo trained entry, he drops back down after facing much tougher in his latest. He's done well at this level in the past and should do so again this afternoon.
