Top pick: #6 (HOPE CROSS) (8-5) - Lightly-raced Irish bred filly has been on the sidelines since a sub par effort in early Nov. at Aqueduct. She had gone 5-1-4-0 prior to that and finished second here at this level and distance Oct 12. She spent the winter training at Palm Meadows but did not start in Florida. The leading trainer at this meet (Chad Brown) looks like he has her well prepared for her return off a 5 1/2 month layoff.
2nd pick: #3 (Magsamelia) (8-1) - Long shot moves up in class and goes an additional furlong after a sharp gate-to-wire win here going 6-furlongs for a $50K tag May 7th. She's a perfect 2-for-2 locally and a recency advantage on several of her opponents.
3rd pick: #1 (Jet Majesty) (5-1) - Speed/stalker chased the pace before weakening to check in third April 24th at Aqueduct racing at this level going a mile. She was bumped at the break and had to rush up that afternoon in her first since Nov 2. Consistent sort probably needed the race anyway and she should contend today with a clean getaway.
4th pick: #2 (Equilateral) (12-1) - Long shot has had all of her success on the dirt. Lightly-raced filly by 'Arch' raced evenly in her only previous attempt on the grass and did not have the best of trips that day.
