He's been working steadily for his first race since Dec. 2 and trainer Chad Brown wins at a strong 30% rate off of long layoffs.
2nd pick: #8 (Gio d'Oro) (3-1) - Freshened up since Feb. 18, gelding has been very sharp in all three starts since stretching out in distance. Speed/stalker broke his maiden going a mile Jan 18 at Aqueduct, then finished a pace-chasing second there in a $95,000 stakes at the same distance last out. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #11 (Engineer's Report) (5-1) - The only horse entered for the 'main track only' and trainer Rudy Rodriguez gets his wish. Colt raced evenly April 22 at Aqueduct at this distance on the grass in his first back of a two month break. He's been at Saratoga since and ships back down off a pair of bullet works there on the famous 'Oklahoma' Training Track. Colt is dangerous today at a square price.
