Top pick: #5 (DEVERELL) - Florida shipper went (4-0-1-3) at Gulfstream this past winter after coming back from a 10 1/2 month layoff in late December. Home-bred daughter of "Arch" just missed racing for $30K April 8th and looks all set in her New York debut to break her maiden.
2nd pick: #2 (Onthekisser) - Another coming from Gulfstream and twice this past winter she finished in front of "Deverell". Strong finisher also makes her local debut and she had a sharp 3-furlong work here a week ago. The likely winner if the top pick fails.
3rd pick: #6 (Ghostly Jewel) - Daughter of "Ghostzapper" had a slow start when debuting at Gulfstream March 3rd and improved her position while being unhurried. Trainer Tom Bush is very good second time out (23%) and this filly could factor at a nice price.
4th pick: #4 (Sissy Wells) - Bred to love the grass and her best start in three came in her only race on the turf. She was only a nose back of Deverell that day and 1 1/2 lengths back of "Kisser". She ships from Keeneland where she showed nothing on the "poly", so trainer Ken McPeek immediately moves her back to the infield.
