It was his first off a Michelle Nevin claim and she sends him additional furlong in this spot and he's won two of four at it in the past. Five-year-old has leading rider Jose Ortiz aboard, and that adds to the pluses.
2nd pick: #6 (Chelios) (3-1) - Blinkers go on and trainer Dave Cannizzo is dropping his claiming price in half. Stalker tired facing tougher here sprinting on the grass May 21 and he's dangerous on the drop and the switch back to the dirt.
3rd pick: #7 (Howl) (5-1) - Another that's dropping down and this gelding is also cutting back in distance. Five-year-old draws a good outside post at this trip, but one of the top two selections is more likely to win this.
4th pick: #5 (Chicago Sun) (10-1) - Speedy sort has tired in three straight at this level since being claimed March 18. His overall form has slipped since late in 2015 and a small slice would appear to be his ceiling.
