Claimed that afternoon by Linda Rice, she drops her down a bit for this attempt. 3yo gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (La Contessa) (9-2) - Also from the barn of Linda Rice, this filly has been on the sidelines since breaking her maiden going a mile on the main track at Aqueduct Nov. 18. Originally with Todd Pletcher, Rice claimed her for $50K Aug. 24 at Saratoga. She's had very wide trips in both previous grass attempts and is a threat today if ready off the seven-month layoff.
3rd pick: #5 (Codrington) (5-1) - Stretch runner raced both wide and evenly facing first-level allowance foes at the New York bred condition May 28. It was her second back from a six-month absence, and she's dropping into a claimer, doing so with blinkers on. Dangerous today at a square price.
