Top pick: #4 (FIRESTARTER) (4-1) - Sharp smallish barn (Tom Morley) sends out this filly for her racing debut. She has some very fast local works on view, including a bullet from the gate (best of 67) July 3. Trainer did good work with his youngsters last year and this 2-year-old looks set for a big effort first out.
2nd pick: #6 (Nolo Contendere) (5-2) - Trainer Rick Violette Jr learned how to get them to win first out from his father. This daughter of 'Scat Daddy' cost $140K as a 2-year-old in training this past April and has been working fast at Violette's home base of Aqueduct. He wins at an excellent 38% rate with debuting runners.
3rd pick: #5 (Frosty Margarita) (3-1) - Home bred by 'Frost Giant' is another debuting off of some quick a.m. moves. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez had a solid 2014 with his 2-year-olds and won several stakes at Saratoga with his juveniles. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (A Little Extra) (8-1) - Another by 'Frost Giant,' filly has the shortest route home and three sharp works at Philly Park before shipping here. An alert break from the rail should have her involved at a big price.
