Top pick: #2 (IRONICUS) (6-5) - The probable heavy favorite, he enters off a stakes win at Pimlico May 16 in the G2 'Dixie". Strong finisher is 7-3-3-1 on the grass and is nicely spotted today by 'Shug' McGaughey.
2nd pick: #1a (Tetradrachm) (6-1) - He has the best early speed of this rather pace less group. He ships back from Delaware Park where he finish third after being in front until mid-stretch. Nice effort came off a six month layoff and veteran has been competitive here in the past.
3rd pick: #6 (Abtaal) (10-1) - Very lightly raced 6yo kept some top company racing in France and was a Group 3 winner back in 2012. However, he was injured in Sept. of that year and did not run again until this past January. He's raced evenly in two straight here at this level and can factor at a big price with a bit of improvement.
4th pick: #8 (McIlory) (5-1) - Freshened up since late April, he's making his first start for trainer Rudy Rodriguez (a 24% winning angle). He's a professional turf horse 16-5-4-3 and has a fine local record 5-2-1-0. Dangerous with his best.
