Top pick: #5 (MACHINATION) (3-1) - He's a stable-mate of #5 "Ten Penny Princess" who was my top selection in today's first race. The two have been working together and that filly has the better a.m. moves. Keep an eye on that fillie's performance when assessing the chances of this colt by "Yes It's True."
2nd pick: #7 (Battle Red) (4-1) - Colt cost $270K two months ago and son of "Kitten's Joy" is in the Pletcher barn. Trainer wins at a 26% rate with debuting juveniles and he always picks up steam with the Saratoga meet almost upon us. This 2-year-old is working fine and John Velazquez is aboard.
3rd pick: #4 (Cat Fiftyfive) (5-1) - Grey son of "Tale of the Cat" sold for $185,000 last August and is in the Maryland based barn of Jim Lawrence. Working fast at Fair Hill and the drills have picked up in intensity of late. Price play.
4th pick: #6 (I Spent It) (2-1) - Colt by "Super Saver" cost $600K this past March and has been working fast at Fair Hill in Maryland. It's noted that J.J. Castellano is aboard for this colt's debut.
