Top pick: #1 (SHEPPARD ENTRY: 1-DIVINE FORTUNE & 1a-ITALIAN WED) (8-5) - "Hall of Famer" Jonathan Sheppard has a very strong hand in this (G1) steeplechase contest sending out this entry and also "Hunt ball" who runs as a separate betting interest. "Wedding" is the better of this entry, but "Fortune" is more than capable with his "A" game.
2nd pick: #7 (Hunt Ball) (12-1) - Longshot has not yet reproduced his form in England where he did well against some top competition. Capable, he gets lasix and jockey Richard Geraghty (who had other options) winds up here. Major force at a big price.
3rd pick: #2 (Demonstrative) (6-1) - He enters off an even effort at Saratoga on Aug. 22 when he finished 15 lengths back of "Wedding." However, that was his first back off a pair of long layoffs and this strong finisher has plenty of back class.
