Top pick: #6 (BEAUTIFUL BUT BLUE) - Talented sophomore is one of a trip of 3-year-olds taking on their elders in the first big race on New York Showcase day here at Belmont. She won a pair of state-bred stakes at this distance during the summer and then finished a respectable third when facing G1 company at saratoga in the Test Stakes. Latest effort saw her finish third at Charles Town in the $400K "Oaks". In shape, loves the distance, and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Risky Rachel) - Hard hitter is (16-7-4-1) overall and is (5-3-1-1) locally. Mare finished second to "Blue" in a stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 1, then won there on Aug. 20 facing a bit weaker field. Speed/stalker is dangerous with her best.
3rd pick: #3 (Agave Kiss) - Daughter of "Lion Heart" went wire-to-wire in her first six starts but is now on a three race losing streak. In her defense she's been facing "open" company since winning her second start and last out was beaten a neck on this strip in a small stakes at this distance. Threat on the front end.
