Top pick: #5 (NOBLE CORNERSTONE) (7-2) - Lightly-raced New York bred enters off a wide and even effort in Saratoga's "King Bishop'S" (G1) on Aug. 23. Solid effort came after a pair of back-to-back wins. Strong finisher should get a fast and/ or contested pace to rally into and can take this if he has a trouble free trip in this large field.
nd pick: #6 (Chapman) (5-1) - He has more wins (5) than any other entered, and this speedy gelding just missed last out at Saratoga when facing state-bred special weights. That solid effort came off almost a four month layoff and he should be involved from start-to-finish.
rd pick: #7 (Scam) (6-1) - Phipp's home bred missed by a "head" here at this level going 7-furlongs on Sept. 7. It was his best since coming off a long layoff in late July and he's since come back with a sharp work. In the mix.
th pick: #11 (Gombey Dancer) (12-1) - He finished a distant second to G1 winner "The Big Beast" at Saratoga on July 26th. Solid effort came off a two month break, but he came back with a rather lackluster effort there five weeks later. He draws a nice outside post and may grab a share at a square price.
th pick: #4 (Run for Logistics) (15-1) - Lightly-raced colt showed some talent as a 2-year-old and has been competitive in both Spa starts since coming from Calder in late spring. Working fast for this and he's nearing his best for trainer Gary Contessa.
