Bet down to 5-2 that afternoon, he was bumped heavily and was crowded just after that. Trainer Chad Brown wins at a 28% rate 2nd time out, and this colt gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (Southern Brigade) (6-1) - Price play stretches out in distance for his second attempt. He rallied late after having some traffic issues at the 1/2-mile pole sprinting at Saratoga Aug. 10. Colt moves off the rail, worked well here Sept. 7, and Javier Castellano stays aboard.
3rd pick: #4 (Scotty Brown) (3-1) - Home bred is one of four entered by Kentucky Derby winner 'Big Brown.' He finished 2nd when debuting at Saratoga Aug. 23 and was just under a length in front of a troubled 'Graded On a Curve.' Grey colt worked fast here Sept. 16 and is an obvious contender today.
4th pick: #1 (Quiet Out East) (4-1) - Gelding rallied while wide to check in not far behind both 'Scotty Brown' and 'Graded On a Curve' when debuting at Saratoga. He draws a ground saving post, and trainer Chris Clement wins at a solid 22% rate second time out.
