Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (LOVE YOUR BUTTONS) (9-2) - Lightly raced and improving, this colt is stretching out in distance for this attempt. He had a poor start here at this level going seven furlongs July 2, but did rally to finish 4th. In his follow up at Saratoga going 5.5 furlongs Aug. 10, he broke cleanly before closing while wide to run 2nd. He should like this longer trip and gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #2 (Harlan's Hunch) (5-1) - Speedball drops back down to the $40K price trainer Steve Asmussen claimed him for here June 3. His early speed and inside post should have him in this from start-to-finish.
rd pick: #3 (Brianbakescookies) (3-1) - Gelding ships back from Monmouth where he's finished 2nd in both starts facing special weights. Capable against this group, it's noted that trainer Chris Clement has Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard for the first time.
th pick: #9 (Kinder) (15-1) - Unraced since Nov. 18, grey colt just missed that day at this tag racing on the main track at Aqueduct. Claimed that afternoon by Gary Contessa, 3yo is training steadily, and is racing on the grass for the first time.
th pick: #10 (Culture Carrier) (5-1) - Debuting 3yo is by turf sire 'Kitten's Joy,' and he sold for $170,000 as a yearling back in 2015. In the barn of Chad Brown (20% first out), he's been in steady training since late June, and he has Javier Castellano aboard.
