Top pick: #2 (ROCK AMERICA) - Races second off a Linda Rice claim and a almost two break break. Trainer drops him to well below the purchase price of $50K and sophomore is working well for his return. Has a good post, some positional speed, and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Pernice) - Raced evenly here at this level Oct. 20, in his second back off a 10 month layoff. Has some fine efforts in his past on this surface and should offer whatever he has in this third back off the layoff situation. Contender.
3rd pick: #1 (Empire State) - Lightly-raced home bred by "Empire Maker", had a very rough trip at Saratoga Aug. 29 and has been on the sidelines since. Working nicely for this, he has fine positional speed, and draws the inside post. Should be in this from start to finish.
4th pick: #9 (Seeking Anita) - Gelding rallied from far back last out to finish fifth of 12, beaten 5 lengths. Race was his first in three months and his connections will stretch him out in distance this afternoon. I think he'll run well at a nice price.
