Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #12 (THERE HE GOES) (7-2) - Expensive ($175,000) colt came through with a big effort here Oct. 12. Racing at this level going six furlongs he stayed up close, fought to a short lead, then lost by a 'nose.' Three-year-old draws a nice outside post for this seven furlong distance and gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #11 (Source Control) (6-1) - Long time maiden was two lengths in back of 'There He Goes' here Oct. 12. He had to be used hard after breaking from an inside post and draws much better this afternoon. It's a big plus that Irad Ortiz Jr. stays aboard.
rd pick: #3 (Saratoga Colonel) (9-2) - Lightly-raced and improving, he's cutting back in distance following a pair of good efforts at this level going 8.5 furlongs. He's a late threat today if able to avoid any traffic issues in this big field.
th pick: #4 (Frost Proof) (8-1) - Gelding missed by just under a length when going six furlongs here Oct. 5. By far a career best, barn has Javier Castellano aboard for the first time, a sign that they like this gelding's chances.
th pick: #2 (Pence) (4-1) - Very lightly-raced, he had some traffic issues last out while checking in third, 2.5 lengths in back of 'Frost Proof.' He has some early speed, draws the rail, and can factor with a bit of improvement.
