Top pick: #1 (ZENNOR) (7-2) - Grey colt is going turf to dirt and from the 12-post to the rail. Darley home bred by "Medaglia d'Oro" has shown good early speed in both dirt starts and has been working fast for this attempt. Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin is also stretching him out a bit (23%) and adding Lasix (29%).
nd pick: #7 (Escondido) (6-1) - Colt pressed the pace while racing between horses and held gamely to finish third here at this level going 8.5-furlongs on Sept. 20th. It was a nice step forward over his July 11 debut, and trainer Todd Pletcher has him making back-to-back starts for the first time.
rd pick: #3 (Red Guard) (4-1) - Beautifully bred colt rallied from far back to finish fourth of 11, beaten 2 1/2 lengths when debuting here in a 7-furlong turf contest Sept. 13th. Trainer "Shug" McGaughey has worked him four times since, adds lasix (22%), and sends him an additional furlong.
th pick: #9 (King Rontos) (10-1) - Grey colt enters off an even effort here at this level going 7-furlongs on the dirt Sept. 27th. Son of "Unbridled's Song" is trying the turf for the first time and is stretching out a furlong.
th pick: #8 (Andalusite) (6-1) - No speed type has rallied to finish a fast closing third last out and was a length better than "Escondido." He's been competitive in both starts and would love a fast and/or contested pace to develop.
