Top pick: #4 (GUGGENHEIM) (5-1) - Lightly-raced home bred by "Smart Strike" is training nicely for his first since June 8th when he ran second, sprinting here to future G1 winner "The Big Beast." Trainer John Shirreffs stretches him out in distance (23%) and colt gets a slight edge in a very competitive contest.
2nd pick: #7 (Jazz Player) (8-1) - $450,000 son of "Malibu Moon" chased and tired to finish a distant third when debuting in a sprint here on Sept. 7. Son of "Malibu Moon" has since come back with a trio of bullet works and he's a threat at a nice price.
3rd pick: #1 (Point Hope) - He has "off" track experience and has been competitive in three straight, the latest pair coming here at this level and distance. Stretch runner must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #2 (Private Label) - Lightly-raced colt has some speed and is racing second back from a 10-month layoff. Son of "Empire Maker" is making back-to-back starts for the first time and should offer his best in this spot.
5th pick: #8 (Lucid ) (8-1) - Darley home bred has finished third in both starts without threatening. He's been in with some tough fields in both of those and his outside post is a plus.
