Top pick: #2 (MEI LING) (2-1) - The probable favorite, $500K daughter of "Empire Maker" finished a pace-setting second here at this level and distance on Sept. 12 in a nice move forward off her debut. Filly had a bullet half-mile breeze Sept. 29 and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Spanish Gold) (5-2) - She was bet down to favoritism when debuting at Saratoga and tired to finish third on a sloppy surface going 7 furlongs. She's worked twice here since and trainer Todd Pletcher wins at a 38% rate second time out.
3rd pick: #1 (Predicate) (7-2) - The field's most experienced runner, she moves back to the dirt after tiring badly here on Sept. 13 going 8.5 furlongs on the turf. $200K filly by "Congrats" has gone 3-0-1-2 when racing on the dirt and stalker must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (One Night) (6-1) - Filly raced close up before tiring in the same Sept. 12 contest as "Ling" and was 11 lengths back of that rival at the finish. Barn (Jim Bond) doesn't normally have them ready first out and this $340K daughter of "Distorted Humor" should run better in this spot.
