Top pick: #6 (PRIVATE RELATIONS) (3-1) - Son of of "War Front" cost $325,000 as a yearling back in 2012 and just missed at Gulfstream at this level on March 16th. Bet heavily that day, he had a slow start and rallied to miss by a head. On the sidelines since, he's working sharply and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #3 (Upper East Side) (5-2) - Colt cost owner Mike tabor $825K in Sept. of 2012 and enters this off a neck defeat at this level and distance at Gulfstream April 27th. It was only his second start, first on the grass, and Pletcher trained 3-year-old was bet down to favoritism. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Dr Abramson) (6-1) - Colt finished 6th of 12, beaten just over two lengths when debuting going 6.5-furlongs on the Keeneland "poly" April 17th. He had a tough inside post, took some betting action, and the overall effort was a positive one. Trainer Ken McPeek stretches him out in distance and moves him to the turf. Don't just dismiss.
4th pick: #2 (Charitable) (5-1) - Trainer Jimmy Jerkens is having a strong year after a pair of sub-par ones and he sends out this Peter Blum home-bred off a nine week freshening. Son of "Malibu Moon" showed good early speed and held to finish fourth, only a length back of "Private Relations" when debuting on March 16th. Must be left in the mix.
