Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (AUGIE'S COMING) (8-5) - He has a tactical advantage with his early speed and enters this off a pace-setting second place finish April 15 at Aqueduct at this level going a mile. It was his first race in just under a year and trainer Danny Gargan has Irad Ortiz Jr. replacing apprentice Ayala.
2nd pick: #5 (Fried Baloney) (5-1) - Freshened up since March 18, he was competitive at Gulfstream Park in all three starts racing on the turf. Before heading here, trainer Nick Zito had him working above average on the dirt at Keeneland. A strong factor if he takes to deep surface at Belmont.
3rd pick: #7 (Balfe's Corner) (6-1) - On the sidelines since Aug 21, he's working steadily and is taking a big drop in class. Mostly a grass performer, he finished a pace-setting third July 31 at Saratoga facing tougher on a sloppy surface in a contest that was taken 'off the turf.' A factor if ready off the nine month layoff.
4th pick: #6 (Benny Big Boy) (12-1) - Lightly-raced 3-year-old has been on the sidelines since breaking his maiden on Aqueduct's inner-surface Feb 25. 'Long winded' type has some finishing kick and should like the deep surface and long stretch here.
