Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (KICKIN KIMBERLY) (3-1) - She's facing winners after a gate-to-wire maiden victory going a mile here facing $40K claimers May 26. It was her second start back following a 10-month layoff and trainer Rudy Rodriguez shortens her up a furlong for this attempt. 4yo gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #9 (Zee Drop) (5-2) - A lightly raced home bred by 'Lemon Drop Kid', she's dropping in class and is on the grass for the first time. Bred for the surface switch, 3yo has a fine post and her speed/stalking style fits the contest.
3rd pick: #1 (Appreciate) (4-1) - Stretch runner rallied to break her maiden here going 6 furlongs for a $40K tag May 10. Sent in with starter-allowance foes at that level June 7, she made up some ground to finish 6th of 10, beaten just over 3 lengths. Down in class and stretching out a furlong, she has a ground saving post and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Alley to Calvary) (7-2) - A 4yo daughter of 'Flower Alley', she checked in fifth of six, missing by just over 2 lengths going 6 furlongs here for a $30K tag June 2. It was her first back following a pair of layoffs and she was very sharp here last fall in a pair at this level. It's noted that trainer Bruce Levine has Javier Castellano aboard for the first time.
