It was his first race since Oct. 23, and Irad Ortiz, Jr. stays aboard. This 4yo by 'Verrazano' gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Carters Got Sass) (4-1) - Very fast from the gate, he's tired late to finish 2nd and 3rd in his last pair. A lightly raced 3yo, he's working steadily for his first since Feb. 20, and gets a rider upgrade today.
3rd pick: #1 (Kilmarnock) (7-2) - Another lightly-raced 3yo, he tired after pressing the pace while wide to finish 2.5 lengths in back of 'Cobble Hill' here June 3. Homebred moves from an outside post to the rail and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #5 (J's Warrior) (6-1) - Very wide last out after breaking from a tough post (13 of 13), he has early speed, draws much better, and is capable of factoring in this spot at a square price.
